Why join this course?

The impact of COVID-19 on the social, economic, political, cultural, and academic affairs of countries around the world has been enormous. Disruptions have ranged from closing schools, universities, institutions, and massive loss of human lives write Professor Damtew Teferra. In addition, a recent report by John Agaba describes how the surge of coronavirus cases in the East African countries has forced many institutions to close, with students forced to return home. An example of “A young woman joined the university in August 2019. She had hoped to conclude her qualification in May 2022. Now, she is not even sure when she will complete her second year”. (https://www.universityworldnews.com/page.php?page=Coronavirus_Africa_Hub). The challenges from COVID-19 are linked to inadequate resources which have delayed the migration to eLearning.

Therefore, there is an urgent demand for a free eLearning platform for universities in Africa.

AAU has partnered with eLearnAfrica to Design, Develop, Deliver, and Deploy Learning Management systems (LMS) throughout Africa. The objective of the platform is to serve the universities and provide FREE eLearning tools to make online education accessible and generate income for universities. AAU-eLearnAfricaLMS will make available educational content through a website (the “Portal”) and a mobile application (the “App”) AAU LMS (elearnafricalms.com)
